When I got back from work I decided to cook one of my favourite Greek dishes…Peas …in Greece it is called arakas. It is very tasteful and very appropriate for someone who doesn’t like meat. It is very easy to make it and you don’t have to use many things.
Peas with tomato and olive oil (in Greek Arakas)
• 1 pound fresh or frozen peas
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 2 medium carrots, sliced
• 2 medium potatoes
• ½ bunch dill, chopped
• 3 fresh tomatoes (past the blender)
• 1 cup. olive oil
• salt and freshly ground pepper
Now let’s start.
First , chop in small pieces the onion and the carrots.
In a saucepan heat the oil and saute the onion, carrots, potatoes and peas. Stir for 7 ‘ and add the tomatoes, dill and 2 cups water. Add salt and pepper and stir. Cover the pot and let it boil for 40 minutes or so in order to stay only with oil.
Serve it with feta and bread….
